英語記事How to use Threads and X: How to maximize transmission through simultaneous operation
X Operations Manager/Individual Business/B2B Market / 公開日: 2026/02/26 · 更新日: 2026/03/12

I would like to use Threads in addition to X (Twitter), but doing both would double the production cost. Due to this concern, there are many cases where people are hesitant about joining Threads.
In this article, we will explain a design that minimizes production costs while simultaneously operating X and Threads.
Differences in characteristics between X and Threads
Even the same text post has different platform characteristics.
| Item | X (Twitter) | Threads |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum number of characters for posts | 280 characters (can be expanded with a paid plan) | 500 characters |
| Main diffusion routes | RT/quote RT | Random recommendation display |
| User usage context | Information collection/real time | Conversation/community |
| Writing style that is easy to respond to | Short sentences, formal phrases, bullet points | Long sentences, conversational tone, soft tone |
| Reach beyond followers | Depends on the algorithm | Relatively easy to reach |
Posting X and Threads with exactly the same content will not be optimized. Adjustment is required to suit the platform.
Basic policy for simultaneous operation
Policy 1: Keep the core message common and change the writing style
Create two patterns for X and Threads from one theme.
For X (short sentences/bullet type):
3 ways to avoid running out of ideas
① Horizontal expansion from growing posts
② Use readers' questions as material
③ Reuse past popular posts
Just repeat this once a week and you'll never stop posting.
For Threads (dialogue/slightly longer):
Are you wondering every week, “What should I post next?”
In fact, it's faster to create material than to search for it.
Just select one post that has grown and write it from a different angle to make it three.
A theme that gets a lot of attention on my account often hits home again.
Give it a try.
Policy 2: Use Threads for deep digging and X for summary
X: Summarize the main points in bullet points Threads: Dig deeper by adding background, reasons, and experiences
It is efficient to use Threads to dig deeper into themes that have received a good response in X.
Policy 3: Shift posting times by 5-15 minutes
If you post on the same topic at the same time, duplicate messages may reach the same person. Shift the time slightly, such as posting Threads 15 minutes after posting X.
How to minimize production costs
Create one for X first and derive one for Threads
Complete the post for X (up to 280 characters) first, and then develop the post for Threads (up to 500 characters) based on that.
Elements to add:
- Reason/background explanation (1-2 sentences)
- Specific examples (1-2 sentences)
- Closing that leads to questions and dialogue (1 sentence)
If it takes 30 minutes for X, adding it for Threads will take 10-15 minutes.
Consolidate post management
Centrally manage post ideas for X and Threads using the same management tool (Airtable, Notion, etc.).
By designing one line to have both "X text" and "Threads text", the effort for confirmation and reservation will be halved.
Things to avoid in simultaneous operation
- Do not post the exact same text at the same time: Does not match the characteristics of the platform and will not be optimized for either
- Use a stiff writing style in Threads: Threads has a strong casual dialogue, so if you use the writing style for X as is, the response will drop.
- Continue to postpone one or the other: ``Stabilize X first, then Threads'' tends to miss the starting point. Launching at the same time will make it easier to establish an operational loop.
summary
Using Threads and X simultaneously can minimize production costs by sharing the same core message and changing the writing style.
- Create for X (short sentences/bullets) → for Threads (dialogue/in-depth)
- Shift your posting time by 5-15 minutes
- Centralize management
You can expand your reach on two platforms at the same time while limiting increases in production costs.
